Fire Marshal Training
Fire Marshal Training
Leeds | Bradford | York | Hull | Yorkshire
This course covers the role of the designated fire marshal. It also gives you the opportunity to learn about the different types of fire extinguisher and how to use them correctly.
Staff training
The actions of staff if there is a fire are likely to be crucial to their safety and that of other people in the premises. All staff should receive basic fire safety induction training and attend refresher sessions at pre-determined intervals (See fire awareness training).
Fire marshals
Staff expected to undertake the role of fire marshals (often called fire wardens) would require more comprehensive training. Their role may include:
- helping any members of the public, visitors and/or disabled persons leave the premises;
- checking designated areas to ensure everyone has left;
- using firefighting equipment if safe to do so;
- liaising with the fire and rescue service on arrival;
- shutting down vital or dangerous equipment; and
- performing a supervisory/managing role in any fire situation.
